OUR HOMEMADE CHICKEN TIKKA PIZZA

When a carb craving hits, it hits hard. And no matter what you do, it doesn’t go away until it has been satisfied. Hence today’s recipe. If you’re going down the carb rabbit hole, pizza and bread is the safest and most efficient choice. If, scratch that, when the carb craving comes a-calling, I promise this delicious pizza will tick all your boxes.
Ingredients for the Chicken tikka
2 Boneless Chicken breasts diced
1tsp Ginger and Garlic paste
1tsp Turmeric
1tsp Salt
1tsp Chili flakes
1tsp Mixed herbs
1tsp Garam Masala Powder
1tbsp Butter milk
Ingredients for Pizza base
Flour 500g
Salt
Butter 1tbsp
Sugar 1tbsp
Instant yeast 1tbsp
Warm water as required
For toppings
Pizza sauce as required
1 Large tomato
1 large onion
1 green capsicum
Shredded Mozzarella cheese
(You can go as crazy as you want on your toppings, that’s the beauty of homemade pizza. Do you boo!)
Step by step recipe for chicken pizza
For making Chicken Tikka, marinate chicken with salt, ginger, garlic, garam masala powder, lime, butter milk, turmeric, chili flakes. Keep aside for 1 hour or more.
Heat a pan and sprinkle some oil. Add chicken pieces and stir well.
Cover and allow to slow roast on small flame till dry. Stir in between
Once all the chicken tikka are roasted cut into smaller pieces and keep aside.
Mix the flour, salt, sugar, yeast, butter and a little lukewarm water and mix well. Keep aside.
Knead for some time, till you can feel that the dough is smooth and soft.
Make a smooth ball. Rub a little oil in your hands and pat the top of the dough, cover nicely and keep for 1-2 hours, till the dough is double the size.
Meanwhile, cut the Capsicum (bell pepper), onion, tomatoes. Grate the cheese and keep aside.
Once the pizza dough becomes double in size, punch down and divide into three parts.
Take one part and place on a pizza pan. With your palm gently press the dough starting from the center to the sides to make a big round base of about ½ inch thickness.
Poke the pizza base with a fork to release bubbles.
Gently brush the side the side with little butter and put pizza sauce generously on top.
Add little grated cheese and top with chicken pieces, chopped onion, capsicum and tomatoes.
Cover with cheese and sprinkle with salt.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180oc for 20 minutes for till the cheese melts and turn brown.
Take out and cut into triangles with a pizza cutter and enjoy the pizza.
